Book Study: Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl: Reflect on Anne’s Words

When students have finished reading Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl, encourage them to ponder some of the powerful observations Anne recorded in her diary with this reflective writing activity. Designed for seventh- and eighth-grade students, this post-reading activity provides some food for thought as students consider Anne’s heartfelt and eloquent words that resonate with so many people, even many decades after she wrote them. Students will read some of Anne’s quotes from her diary and choose three to reflect on more deeply, describing why they find them personally compelling. This thoughtful after-reading activity is part of a larger book study unit on Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl.
