Book Study: A Night to Remember: Discussion Guide #1

Encourage critical thinking and support your students’ literacy development by asking questions as they read the first chapters of A Night to Remember. With a focus on chapters 1–4 in Walter Lord’s classic account of the final hours of the Titanic's voyage, this two-page discussion guide asks students comprehension, analysis, and connection questions as they get to know passengers on the ship, as well as those first events that set the tragic event in motion. Students will be guided to explore the different experiences of first-class and third-class passengers, as well as how information traveled on the ship during the Titanic’s emergency.
