Back to School Creative Writing Prompt #3: The Lucky Library

What unusual item could your character find in the library? Find out with this fun writing activity! Students are asked to finish a story based on a prompt: your character is excited to find something strange while helping to organize a new classroom library. Young writers should use descriptive writing to tell a story including interesting characters and a plot with a clear conflict.

This worksheet is fantastic for fourth through eighth graders and can engage students’ creative side. Open-ended writing prompts can help students learn about story elements like character, plot, and setting while also improving their prose-writing and communication skills.
