Back to School Creative Writing Prompt #2: The Peculiar Paper

Write about a mysterious message with this fun prompt! On the first day of school, a character finds a folded piece of paper under their desk. Students are asked to write about what their character reads on that paper when they unfold it. As long as the story includes interesting characters and a clear conflict, students can take the story wherever they want to. Don’t forget to include descriptive language!

This worksheet is a great back-to-school activity for students in grades four through eight. Students can use this prompt to spark their creativity, practicing writing skills and thinking about story elements as they tell their own unique story.
