Animal Research Graphic Organizer

It’s time to get organized! Research is fun and easy for students in first, second, and third grade when they use this graphic organizer worksheet to learn all about their favorite animals.

Students start by choosing any animal and writing its name inside the circle labeled “Name of Animal.” As students use websites, books, and magazines to research the animals, they can write relevant notes about what the animals eat, where they live, and what they look like in the labeled squares and rectangles. This helps keep them focused and organized while they research.

Using a graphic organizer is a great first step in research writing lessons. For more open-ended research writing projects, use the Research Graphic Organizer worksheet.
