Worksheet

All About Decimals: Modeling Tenths #1

There are many ways to represent decimals—can you complete each model? In this fourth-grade worksheet, students are given four decimal numbers, each to the tenths place. Learners will represent each decimal number in three different ways: as a fraction, as a shaded model, and on a number line.

This modeling activity will reinforce students’ understanding of decimal place value. Learners will understand equivalency between decimals and fractions and how decimals can relate to whole numbers. Modeling decimal numbers in different ways can help reinforce what a decimal number represents and can build a strong foundation for comparing and operating with decimals.
