Worksheet

A or An? Write the Room

Practice using a and an in sentences with this dynamic activity! To set up a “write the room” activity, an adult must first cut out the cards on the second page of this worksheet and place them around a room. Then, learners can move around the room to find each card and use their knowledge of grammar to finish each sentence with the correct article. In the second part of this worksheet, students will write their own sentences using the provided noun, making sure to include an article before the word.

This first-grade worksheet is a great choice for getting students excited about learning grammar. Learners can have fun finding each of the cards while also improving their ability to use articles before nouns. This skill is an essential part of English grammar, so it is vital that students gain a strong understanding of it early on!
