Learning Objectives

Students will be able to understand what windy weather is and make predictions about wind.

Introduction

(10 minutes)
  • Go around the classroom and fan students with a paper plate attached to a popsicle stick. Ask students to describe what that feels like.
  • Explain to students that you created a breeze, which is what wind feels like.
  • Tell students that wind is air moving around in different directions.

Beginning

  • Provide students with sentence starter to utilize when sharing how the fan blowing on them feels: "I feel __ ___ ___ ______ __ ___ ___ ______."

Intermediate

  • Ask students to share if they have felt something similar before outside. Have them share with a partner.
