Introduction
(5 minutes)- Explain that parts of speech are different types of words that we use in English. There are eight parts of speech: nouns, verbs, prepositions, adjectives, adverbs, pronouns, conjunctions, and interjections.
- Show your students a short video about the eight parts of speech (see related media).
- After the video, have your students "turn and talk" with an elbow partner to see how many of the eight parts of speech they can name.
