More, Less, or Equal: Comparing Quantities
In this lesson, your students will get hands-on practice comparing quantities! Students will compare using buttons, blocks, and their classmates.

Learning Objectives
Students will compare the number of objects in two groups. Students will use the words greater than, less than, or equal to compare items.
Introduction
(5 minutes)- Invite 5 students to come to the front of the class. Split them into 2 groups. The first group should have 2 students, and the other should have 3.
- Ask the class which group has more people and which one has less people.
Beginning
- Provide definitions for more and less in student home language (L1).
- Ask students to point to the group with more people.
Intermediate
- Have the students turn and talk to share which group they think is bigger with a partner. Use the following sentence frame, "I think ________ is bigger because ________."
