What Do You Hear?
Use this helpful review or pre-lesson to introduce the idea that letters make the same sound, regardless of their place in a word. Can be used as a stand alone or support lesson for the **Same Sound Different Location** lesson plan.

Introduction
(3 minutes)- Display the tiered vocabulary cards and say each word aloud.
- Model how to identify the sound you can hear at the beginning/ending of each word by holding up the image of a pig and saying: "This is a pig. I can hear the /pp/ sound at the be ginning of pig."" then hold up the picture of the pup, "This is a pup. I can hear the /pp/ sound at both the beginning and end of the word, listen and watch--p--u--p, both letters make the same sound, even though they are in different parts of the word."
