I Pledge Allegiance

Objectives

Academic

Students will be able to define key vocabulary used in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Language

Students will be able to use vocabulary from the Pledge of Allegiance in context with the help of sentence frames.

Introduction

(2 minutes)
  • Explain to students that today they will learn some of the vocabulary used in the Pledge of Allegiance.
  • Define nation and write it on the board. Ask students to think of examples, and write them on the board.
  • Have students turn to partners to discuss what they know about our nation.
