Going on a Picture Walk
Use this helpful introduction to going on a picture walk and making predictions as a stand alone or pre lesson for the **Reading Without Words** lesson plan.

Introduction
(2 minutes)- Display the familiar text, such as The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear by Don Wood to the class.
- Ask them if they know what the story is about. Have students turn and talk to a partner to share their thinking.
- Explain that one way we can learn about a story is by looking at the illustrations, or pictures on the cover and throughout the story.
