Creating Sight Word Books

Students will love practicing their early reading skills as they create their very own classroom book using common sight words! This can be used as a stand-alone or support lesson for the **My First Book** lesson plan.

Introduction

(5 minutes)
  • Introduce the lesson by displaying the read-aloud text and doing a picture walk. Pause as you go through the picture walk and ask students to share what they see with a partner using the sentence starter, "I see __ ___ ___ ______ __ ___ ___ ______."
