A Special Gift from Grandpa

What You Need:

• Lined paper
• Pen or pencil
• Picture or memento
• "10 Things You Didn't Know About Me" list
• Computer & printer (optional)
• Tape recorder (optional)
• Video recorder (optional)

What You Do:

1. Suggest that your relative record, videotape, type, or simply handwrite 10 fascinating facts about himself that your child does not know such as “Grandpa used to work at a zoo!” He can simply make a list and read from it, or make a final version of the list of facts, and use that as his gift.
2. Encourage the relative to add a picture or memento to the package, and mail it to your child on her birthday!
3. As your child matures, ask her to help create a list of questions for a relative to answer. She can interview the chosen relative to find her answers, and you'll start a simple family tradition!
