Snowball Fight

What You Need:

• Construction paper
• Scissors
• White poms
• Black marker
• Glue stick

What You Do:

1. Ask your child to trace her hand on a sheet of construction paper. Have her outline it to create a glove. Cut the glove out and glue it to the right side of the paper.
2. If she likes, she can cut out snowflakes and add them to the paper for a more wintry appearance.
3. Help her write math equations on the left side of the paper. Create at least 4 basic addition problems for her to solve. 
4. Encourage her to count the poms aloud so they equal the numbers in the math problem. Take the problem 2+2 as an example; ask her to count out 2 poms and place them in the glove, then count out another 2 poms to add to the glove. Now count all of them together. How many poms are in the glove?
5. Each time she answers correctly, she gets to keep the poms. Try to play until she gets all of the equations right.
6.  Encourage her to play with a friend and set a timer to make the game a bit more challenging.  Whoever has the most snowballs when the timer goes off is the winner.
