Remember Our Veterans Craft

What You Need:

• 9" x 12" white construction paper
• Red and blue construction paper
• Markers
• Scissors
• Glue stick
• Pencil

What You Do:

1. Discuss the importance of Veterans Day with your child.
2. Explain that a veteran is anyone who has served in the military. Tell your child that we honor veterans because they have given their time and, oftentimes, put their lives in jeopardy for the sake of their countries.
3. Give your child a piece of the white construction paper.
4. Encourage her to create an interesting design using the red and blue construction paper. We used a flag for inspiration, but don't limit your child to specific designs, forms, or points of reference. Whatever she'd like to create to show her patriotism is perfectly fine.
