Painted Pottery
Get ready for spring with bright, colorful pottery! Hand-painted pottery is the perfect way to add a bit of decoration to your potted plants. Painted pottery also makes a great gift for Mother's Day or any other special occasion.
What You Need:
- Acrylic paint
- Paintbrushes
- Clay pot
- Paper plate, or plastic paint tray
What You Do:
- Encourage your child to explain what they want to paint on their pottery. Ask her which colors she wants to use and if she wants to create a particular scene or pattern.
- Have her squeeze out the paint onto a paper plate or into a paint tray.
- Now, she can paint her pottery any way she likes! Allow the pottery to dry completely before planting.
Helpful Tips:
-Make sure to put small rocks or pebbles in the bottom of the pot before planting any soil or plants. This will allow for drainage.
-Be careful while painting as acrylic paint will stain clothes!
