Painted Pottery

What You Need:

• Acrylic paint
• Paintbrushes
• Clay pot
• Paper plate, or plastic paint tray

What You Do:

1. Encourage your child to explain what they want to paint on their pottery. Ask her which colors she wants to use and if she wants to create a particular scene or pattern.
2. Have her squeeze out the paint onto a paper plate or into a paint tray.
3. Now, she can paint her pottery any way she likes! Allow the pottery to dry completely before planting.

Helpful Tips:

-Make sure to put small rocks or pebbles in the bottom of the pot before planting any soil or plants. This will allow for drainage.

-Be careful while painting as acrylic paint will stain clothes!
