Octopus Love
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways ... on my eight limbs and eight hearts! Children will love this cute and creative activity for Valentine's Day — or any other occasion. This easily adaptable activity is an especially great complement to a lesson on short O, counting, or social emotional learning.

What You Need:
- Construction paper (red, pink, or any other color you wish)
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Glue
- Markers
What You Do:
- Draw an octopus head for your child and help them cut it out.
- Draw a face on the octopus using the markers. It can be realistic, cartoonish, or in any style you wish.
- Have your child use a pencil to draw eight octopus limbs.
- Help your child cut out the limbs.
- Glue the limbs to the back of the octopus's head.
- Have your child draw eight hearts on red paper.
- Assist your child in cutting out the hearts.
- Ask your child to think of different people and things they love. Lightly write these out, one on each heart. Let your child trace over your writing with a marker.
- Help your child glue one heart to each limb.
You can post this octopus of love on your refrigerator or display it prominently in your child's room as a reminder of the things and people they love.
