Leprechaun Disguise

What You Need:

• Green poster board
• Orange construction paper
• Black construction paper
• Yellow construction paper
• Hole punch
• Glue
• Gold glitter glue
• Black ribbon
• Orange ribbon

What You Do:

1. Have your child cut out a tall hat shape from green poster board. 
2. Next, encourage him to cut out a black strip from a piece of black construction paper. This piece will be the trim embellishing his hat.
3. Help him cut out a small rectangle from the yellow construction paper for the buckle. 
4. Then, cut out a black square that fits inside the yellow rectangle.
5. Cut out a large, filled-in “U” shaped piece from orange construction paper to create the beard. 
6. Hold the piece up to your child's face with the edge right below his nose to determine where to make the cut for the mouth.
7. Help him cut out an oval shape for the mouth. 
8. Have your child glue the black trim onto the base of the hat. 
9. Glue the yellow portion of the buckle in the center of the black strip. 
10. Let him glue the black square in the center of the yellow rectangle to complete the buckle. 
11. Have him outline the black center square with gold glitter glue.  
12. Punch a hole at both ends of the black trim of the hat. 
13. Punch a hole at the top of both sides of the orange beard. 
14. Attach the orange ribbon by looping the ends of ribbon, one end in each hole, through the holes in the beard and tying knots.
15. Attach the black ribbon by looping the end of the ribbon, one end in each hole, through the holes on the sides of the black trim and tying knots.
16. Tie both pieces of ribbon in place around your child's head. His leprechaun disguise is complete!
