Homemade Hand Sanitizer
Parents and teachers know how important it is to help kids keep their hands clean and free of germs, but store-bought hand sanitizer can add up, and sometimes contains harsh chemicals. Keep the hands in your home and classroom clean by whipping up a batch of your own homemade hand sanitizer. You’ll save money, and by including your child in the DIY process, she'll be more likely to use it and avoid germs that can make her sick.

Thank you for your input.
What You Need:
- 8-10 drops of essential oil (such as lavender, peppermint, citrus etc.)
- ⅔ cup of aloe vera gel
- ⅓ cup of 99% rubbing alcohol
- Mixing bowl
- Spoon
- Funnel
- Recycled dispenser bottle
What You Do:
- Choose a scented essential oil to give your sanitizer a lovely aroma. Enlist your child's help in picking out an oil at a natural grocer, aromatherapy, health, natural grocer or beauty product store.
- Watch as your kid measures out each ingredient, helping as needed. Help her pour each one into the mixing bowl, and stir them carefully.
- Using the funnel, pour the solution into the opening of the dispenser bottle.
- Screw the top on, and you're ready to tackle germs with your DIY hand sanitizer!
