Thank you for your input.
What You Need:
- White or light-colored card stock or other sturdy paper
- Markers in pretty spring colors
- Scissors
What You Do:
- Help your child cut out 10 medium-sized rectangles from the card stock. What shape is she cutting out? For a more in-depth lesson on shapes, try making the cards in a variety of shapes such as ovals, squares, or even triangles.
- Begin with the number 1. Give your child one of the cards and ask her to draw one Easter egg on the front of the card and the number 1 on the back. Encourage her to decorate her Easter egg as creatively as she wants.
- Repeat step 2 for cards 2-10, making sure the number of Easter eggs on each card matches the card's number.
- Once your cards are finished, play a simple counting game. Hold up a card, Easter egg side out, and ask her to count the eggs to find the right number.
Once she's mastered 1-10, make the game more challenging by adding cards for numbers 11-20. Play the game often, and watch her counting skills skyrocket!
