Cupid Craft

What You Need:

• Recycled paper roll
• Cotton
• Googly eyes
• Markers
• Tan construction paper
• White construction paper
• Blue pipe cleaner
• Yellow pipe cleaner
• Tape
• Glue stick

What You Do:

1. Help your child cover half of the paper roll with the tan construction paper. Use scissors to trim the excess paper.
2. Have her tape the tan construction paper to the paper roll.
3. This Cupid is going to need some clothes: let your child experiment with wrapping the roll with white construction paper, trimming with scissors as she goes along. The white paper will serve as a toga for her mischevious Roman god.
4. Once she has a toga she's happy with, help her tape it to the roll.
5. Have your child pull apart two cotton balls and fluff them out to create hair for her Cupid.
6. Let her use the glue stick to attach the flurry hair to the top of the paper roll.
7. Help her twist a blue pipe cleaner into a figure eight shape. This will be her Cupid's wings!
8. Have her glue the wings to the back of the paper roll.
9. Next, it's time to make Cupid's bow. Let your child bend the yellow pipe cleaner into the shape of the letter "D."
10. The red pipe cleaner will be Cupid's arrow. Help her bend one end into a diamond and the other end into a heart.
11. Have her glue the bow to the arrow before gluing the bow to Cupid (somewhere in the middle of his rectangular torso).
12. Cupid's missing hands, isn't he? Help your child cut out two small hands from the tan construction paper.
13. Have her glue the hands onto the bow and arrow.
14. She can finish her Cupid by gluing on googly eyes and drawing on a mouth.
