Happy Birthday to You!

What You Need:

• Construction paper
• Crayons
• Scissors
• Sequin mix
• Glue stick

What You Do:

1. Help your child cut out the bottom rectangle shape of a cupcake from a sheet of construction paper. Then, help him cut out the top shape which looks like a dome.
2. Ask him to glue the dome onto the rectangle to create a cupcake shape.
3. Help him to cut out a long, thin rectangle to create a candle, along with a small flame. Glue the flame to the candle and glue the bottom of the candle under the dome of the cupcake.
4. Have him glue this shape toward the bottom of a sheet of construction paper.
5. Encourage him to draw in details of his cupcake.
6. Have him glue on sequin spangles to decorate his cupcake.
7. If your making a book of cupcakes, have the kids put their names and birthdays on the completed cupcakes.
8. Create several cupcakes with friends to celebrate birthdays!
